The 6 week dog training course consists of private one on one training that is personalized to both yours and your dogs specific needs. The general way it works is we set up a consistent time to meet once a week for an hour to a hour and half each week for a duration of six weeks. DFDI follows a rubric and outline that we've carefully created however certain cases call for a specialized approach. In the less extreme cases we are very well equipped in training the Puppy Obedience LEVEL 1 & 2 , as well as Adult Dog Obedience LEVEL 1 & 2.

On the other end we do also work with rescue dogs and are very familiar with training in Introducing a new dog to a new home. We believe primarily in positive reinforcement and a slow approach for our training style however we also do adjust our approach according to the dogs we are working with. We will NEVER try anything without first talking to the owner in regards to their comfort. In regards to E-COLLAR training, this is usually never recommended by us here at DFDI, although we are trained in how to use these types of tools appropriately in the event an owner is interested in that type of training.

Dog beach cleanup

We will have our tent set up on the Rosie's Dog Beach side of the restrooms located off of Ocean Blvd & Granada Ave.

Paid parking is available in the parking lot, as well as street parking on Ocean Blvd. It may be very busy this day so we recommend arriving early for parking.

We also recommend bringing sunscreen, treats, WATER, and whatever you & your pup need for a day at the beach!
*Just as a reminder this is NOT a training event so we ask to only bring dogs that are comfortable in a social setting. We also ask that you please avoid bringing furry family with known aggression, as the focus of this event will be to help CLEAN THE BEACH

Our goal is to make this annual event BIGGER and BETTER every year! We host a fun and enriching experience for our pups while also giving back to our amazing Long Beach community by cleaning the beach.
